Through this portal, you will be able to gain insight about major theories of reading and writing processes, components, and development, as they pertain to literacy instruction and learning. 

This site provides information about four components of literacy development found above: Phonological Awareness, Fluency, Comprehension, and Writing.  Through these headings, you will have access to evidence-based research, and best practices for literacy instruction.

Each component will provide information for a variety of learning styles, including gifted learners, English language learners, and students with learning differences.
